O MTV Movie & TV Awards é uma cerimonia que premia os destaques do cinema e da TV estadunidense. Os vencedores são escolhidos pelo voto popular através das plataformas digitais da MTV.

Neste ano a MTV decidiu dividir o evento em dois dias: 16 e 17 de Maio. Na primeira data serão divulgados os vencedores das categorias de filmes e programas roteirizados, enquanto que no dia seguinte o evento divulga os vencedores que concorrem como realities shows, talk shows e outros programas que visam o improviso.

As produções de super-heróis são o grande destaque da premiação, sendo que WandaVision foi a série que mais recebeu indicações, aparecendo em 5 categorias. Aves de Rapina: Arlequina e Sua Emancipação Fantabulosa recebeu duas indicações e por fim Mulher-Maravilha 1984, que teve indicação de Gal Gadot como Melhor herói/heroína.
